Tau. is a mobile application that reads health and biometric data stored on the user's device via Apple HealthKit, displays it in structured summaries and trend visualizations, provides access to third-party AI assistants for personal data exploration, and generates exportable reports.

II. Regulatory Status — Not a Medical Device

Tau. is not a medical device. It has not been certified, cleared, or approved under any medical device regulatory framework, including but not limited to:

• European Union: Tau. does not bear the CE marking and has not been evaluated or certified under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (Medical Device Regulation — MDR) or any prior directive.
• United States: Tau. has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under Section 510(k), the De Novo pathway, or any Premarket Approval (PMA) process. It is not listed as a registered medical device with the FDA.
• Other jurisdictions: Tau. has not received regulatory clearance or approval from any national or regional health authority worldwide.

Tau. is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease or medical condition. It is not intended to replace, supplement, or override the professional judgment of any qualified healthcare provider.

Users should not rely on Tau. as a medical device, and should not make any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic decision based solely on Tau.'s output without independent clinical assessment.

III. Medical Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Neither Liminal Pictures, nor its founder, nor any contributor to the development or maintenance of Tau., shall be held liable — under any legal theory (contract, tort, strict liability, negligence, or otherwise) — for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or in connection with:

• The use or inability to use Tau.;
• Any clinical decision, act, or omission made in reliance on Tau.'s output;
• Any misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis, inappropriate treatment, or adverse outcome;
• Any interpretation of results by any user, whether professional or non-professional;
• Any technical malfunction, data loss, or software defect;
• Any unauthorized access to, or misuse of data stored on the user's device.

By using Tau., the user expressly acknowledges that all clinical responsibility for patient care rests solely and entirely with the treating practitioner, and that neither Liminal Pictures nor its founder assumes any duty of care toward any patient or end-user.

IV. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

This Legal Notice and any dispute arising from the use of Tau. or this website are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute and failing an amicable resolution, the matter will be brought before the competent French courts.
